I Find Myself In The Word Or In The Desert

I find myself in the word or

in the desert

Walking around the mountain

but seldom ever heard

The things I hear

The things I say

never really register in

someone’s ear

It’s like people listen

to you but pay no attention

to you

They give all the pleasantries

and often say it with politeness

but lacking a real substance

that sticks to the subconscious

A SORT OF HI AND GOOD-BYE

ATTITUDE

Everything looks fine but

no one is trying

They just do enough to

get by

Hell-o: How are you today?

I’m just fine: Thank you

How are you?

I’m doing just fine: Thank you

People walk on by

People walk alone

But they really never look

you in the eye

They may say hell-o or

hi

But never really let you get

to know them inside

They’re too afraid to try

They’re walking scared inside

It makes me wonder why no

one wants to try to be

friendly

So give a real smile

A small trial

A simple smile to a

friend will do

Just give it a try

Please do
